Yes it should. I am going to be working on one this weekend I will see if I can find anything that may give you a clue.

Well after messing with mine I think for some reason your lock may not be coming back into place after the blade is open. A couple of things to check, does the blade open all the way, is the spring that is on the button pushing it back enough to lock the blade? Keep playing with it and let us know.

sereNate, I've had the same thing happen with a few of the DDR3-BL's I assembled. What I found was that the button gets stuck in the right bolster when you depress it. The spring isn't strong enough to overcome the "too tight fit."
Try removing the button and polishing it where it enters the bolster. Also clean out that hole in the bolster, it's usually got gunk in it and then polish inside as well. I use my dremel with the small polishing pads. If you don't have a dremel, try some very fine sandpaper on a small dowel or chopstick. Lastly, lube it before you reassemble. BTW, I also polish the blade where it contacts the integral washers, and the integral washers on the liners. I'll attach a photo of the location you might need to polish.... Let us know if you get it working, Mike Last edited by MSWallace; 04-28-2009 at 01:14 AM. Reason: typos |

A good way to polish may be to put the "top" in a drill press and turn it on. Hold sand paper or a fine file to the end that needs to be polished.
