Re: darn

WEll, it's either going to be just Sammy and me, or we could do it the week of the Blade Show--Saturday, June 1, if it would be easier on ther rest of you. It's your call--I'll be around both weekends.

And whichever weekend we do it, I'd love some BBQ, Sammy.

June 1

If it's OK with Sammy, then we'll go with June 1. Same time, same place. If anyone needs directions, e-mail me, care of my website or ackerforge@yahoo.com

Keep checking here for details. If you have any suggestions for projects or whatever--list them.

THINGS TO BRING

Food and drinks always welcome.

Something to sit upon, if you're so inclined.

Charcoal--real wood charcoal, not the briquets used for bbq grills. Either you can make it, or someone said you can buy it at Walmart. On a good forging day, we go through a lot. If not, we use coal--works, just takes longer.

Trade goods--anything of knifemaking value --steel, brass, bronze copper, tools, knives, handle materials etc.

Good stories (true or not)

Cameras--especially digital ones for posting pictures on the net.

Tools--like your favorite hammers, cutters, tongs , etc., --whatever you like to work with.

Safety equipment--whatever you usually use--The Acker Forge is not responsible for injuries occurring because someone didn't take reasonable safety precautions. If you use it at home--bring it.

Other stuff to be added later.

I'm bringing some copper rod, a steel tube, and 2 bars of steel. How much cash to cover my share of the BBQ?

Re: yepper

Uh, Dan, we don't get too technical on that sort of thing yet. Just bring whatever you think is fair and offer it to Sammy or whoever. So far we haven't been charging for food.

Re: yepper

Sammy, if everybody shows up, we could have as many as 8 to 10 people, but I'd say a bare minimum of 5. I'll help chip in some on the cost as well.
