Cars! Trucks! Bikes!! Whatcha Got???
Hey all,
here a while back there was a thread in the outpost about what motorcycles people have..... I figure we need an "show your ride" thread. Sooo..... My every day driver(EDD); 1990 buick lesabre, I love the fact that it looks big and slow, and tops out at 110 mph. My summer ride: 2001 Honda rebel 250 cc twin. myfirst bike, bought it brand new in the summer of 2000. SO, Whatcha got???? Gary (I'll add more later, I've got 3 cars, 3 trucks, 2 bikes, 2 snowmobiles..... not to mention the stuff of my Dads' that I drive ) __________________ http://ak-adventurer.net/ Gary Blessing, Ex-custom knife maker, Ex-Folder modifier & embelisher. |

It was me who had the Outpost thread.I just bough a house three weeks ago and sold all my bikes, 2 77 goldwings and a Kawasaki Vulcan,in order to finance the purchase.I have degenetive disc disease,so riding was getting to uncomfortable anyways.Im now left with my truck and my better 9/10th's car.I knew a couple who rode two-up from California to sturgis and back on a rebel 250(they are small people and lighter together than me alone).

2000 Vulcan 800 Classic
My "poor man's Harley". Actually this is the 3rd Kawasaki I have owned and I have been very pleased with all of them, especially this one. I rode "the loop" through the Tail of the Dragon and Cherahola Skyway http://www.leanonthedragon.com/ last year and had a blast.

Rock ON. I like bikes and beer guns and girls THATS RIGHT. I have a 1977 FLH harley decker and a 1986 XLH sportster hotrodcycle. This past summer My father gave me his 1950 500 Norton Dominator twin. I think all motorcycles are cool, I judge the rider. This sounds a little harsh sometimes but I feel it is more inteligent than saying that make of bikes suck even though it might be one of the nicest folks you ever met riding it. You would have just lost a potential buddy. By judging the people riding you will know when You have made a new buddy.

The Kaws have been good bikes for me. I would really rather go with a Harley or Victory and buy American but the fact is I could swing $7K for the Kaw. If I had to come up with $20K for a Harley, I would still be savin' and I wouldn't be ridin'.

Howdey Ice Tiger. The old norton needs lots of work. It was my dads bike. He started refurbishing it before he had his stroke and I think all the parts are still there. He and a buddy of his rebiuld it sometime in the early 60s and then he leangthened the rearend 4 inchs to make it into a hillclibmer. He won lots of troghies with it so he was always proud of the old girl. When you stomp down on the kicker theree is still lots of compression left. There wasnt many miles put on it since the rebiuld in the 60s mind you all the miles where uphill. If I can figure out how to resize my pics on this here computor I will post them and my Harleys. Heck maybe even my 66 ford f100 that I am thinking of making into a rat rod style hauler.
Mcarter Harleys are cool but so is your Kaw. If I were in the market for a newer motorcycle I would lean toward the Polaris Victory touring rig. It fits me nice. There is nothing I would need to change exept the exaust. It can always be a little louder. LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES Ok lets see what this gets started LOL __________________ tame birds sing of freedom,,,,Free birds just fly. http://neotribalartist.freeforum.ca |
