Buffalo Camp Knife with Fine English Scroll

G'day fellas, here's one I'd like to share with you. It's one of my most popular patterns. I have made this knife in numerous configurations. This Knife is made from D2, hardened to 58 RC. The blade is flat ground and the handle has a tapered tang. It features a Chevron bolster made of nickel silver which is hand engraved with Fine English scroll by Ron Croxon. The handle is polished Buffalo horn with an escutcheon plate featuring the clients name surrounded by a nick dot border. Hope you like it, feel free to comment. All the best for the New Year....

Hello Sir, That knife is beautiful! I love the lines of the bolster and how it flows with the ricasso/finger-guard, the chevron is super cool. The scroll work doesn't over shadow the whole of the design. I can only hope to build something as classic as that knife.

I can't see the pins through the scroll work, I'm assuming they are there and made of the same nickel silver, is that right?

Thanks for sharing Bruce!

Alex

Very well done. Love the scroll work on bolsters which are seemingly seem less.

Thanks Fellas, glad you like it. Alex, yes, there are two pins holding the bolster. The pins finished invisible, peening is a must and using the same alloys always helps. Thanks for looking, all the best for the New Year.

Great fit and finish! Good job on the photos also. I have as much trouble taking good pics of my knives as I do making them.

Thanks guys. With regards to the photography, I highly recommend you check out Coop's light box system. I made mine for next to nothing. I was pushed for time for the photography of this knife but easily got these basic results. Eric and Use It, I'm glad you like it, here's the same knife in its most simple form, Green Micarta with carbon fibre pins and tubing.
