November Georgia Guild meeting

The fall meeting of the Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild will be held on Saturday, November 5th in Columbus Ga. Don Tommey is hosting and has a day full of demonstrations with hands on experience planned. For details on the demonstrations and directions to his shop, check the November news letter. (The date in the newsletter is not correct.)
Don't forget to bring some of your cast off shop stuff (stuff you won't use and someone else might) for the "Iron in the Hat" raffle. That is how we pay for lunch. The more stuff you bring and the more tickets you buy, the better the Guild comes out on lunch.
If you can make it to the meeting, please respond to this notice or the e-mail sent to the membership, so that I can give Don an aproximate number of those attending. If you are not sure now and find out later that you can come, please do. Bring some knives to show, either complete or in the works. It's always interesting to see what you are working on.

Hope to see you in Columbus on Nov 5th,

Fellow Makers, Collectors and Allround Knife Nuts

In bringing this to the top line, I just wanted to say:
Members, makers and other interested parties - This is your chance to get connected with others of the same interest. We have some very interesting, informative meetings and a wide diversity of maker styles, techniques, and skill levels. We try to keep the locations moving around the state so that everyone can get in a short drive once in a while. I haven't missed one yet and don't plan to.

Don Tommey has generously open his shop in Columbus, GA, for this meeting and has lined up some really good demos you can learn from. Most of the folks doing the demostrations are the same guys who's knives/work you drool over at the Blade and other knife shows. This is real opportunity here. If you walk away without learning something.................well I'd like to meet you in person. I'd have a lot of questions for you.

Let Don and/or Harry know you're coming so the meeting can be accomodating to all. There's a lot of work behind the scenes to make these Guild meetings what they have become. These guys are volunteering their time and talent for your benefit. I think you'll find that this is where you wanted to be all along.
Hope to see all of you there.
