Birch
Anybody know what the birch used on Norwegian knives for handles is called.
Is it curly or spalted. Have to make a knife for a family reunion. Take Care TJ __________________ TJ Smith Knifemaker |

There are both birch burls, and curly birch. The burl is like any other burl, but in curly birch, the bark has grown into the wood and created brown streaks + there will be "flames" in the wood.
