JS Test - Pictures
Last Friday morning (9-18) I went up to M.S. Burt Foster's shop to take my journeyman smith performance test.
for those who aren't familiar the test involves cutting a free hanging 1" Manila rope, chopping through a 2x4 twice and still being able to shave. then the knife is placed in a vise and bent 90 degrees and cannot break I am happy to say that my knife performed flawlessly and I look forward to presenting my knives at Blade 2010 unfortunately I don't have a picture of the Rope cut. This is the knife prior to taking the test 9 1/2" 1084 5" unknown hardwood handle Chopping through the 2x4 for the second time Burt checking the quality of the edge after all of the cutting Bending the knife to 90 degrees BIG grin |

Congrat's Stephen,
I just passed my test last month. It is a great feeling. Now the real work begins. Look forward to seeing you at Atlanta in June. Bing MLazyB Custom Knives |
