Yes, Going to hunt Cape buffalo, Wildebeest, and Warthog. May take a Kudu if time permits. I have always wanted to hunt there. Mainly Cape Buffalo. Would also someday like to take a Lion. Just can't afford a lion. Going to take some time to save for the buffalo, at least a few years. But by God I'm going !

That sounds like the trip of a lifetime. I talked about going over and doing the same hunt with a buddy of mine many years ago. Work took him to Portland, OR and it kind of slipped away. I know you already know but no military calibers. What are you taking for the Cape Buffalo?

Hey Robb, Would really like to use my .58 cal muzzleloader, double rifle. Talked with a pro hunter who said that shouldn't be a concern as he and the tracker would have back-up guns and could cover me if things went south. 375H&H would be my go to gun if I can't get a close in shot. Not gonna let a
40" Bull walk because I would prefer to use a muzzleloader. Africa gun laws are a bear!!!!
Travis, This whole thread was aimed at Steve, really kinda as a joke. I figure everyone he knows hit's him up for tickets. Or special deals.

That's cool. When I was typing my reply I kinda thought you'd be a double front loader kind of guy. I've always been fascinated with old British double rifles. Keep us posted on how the plans are going.

Andy - South Africa?! what a cool trip!
Ticket help. No problem! US Air doesn't fly to South Africa but I can get you some "stand-by" tickets to New York! You know "stand-by"...It really is a great way to travel, if you have lots of time and love airports. And, we can get your guns there too-they just get stamped with a big red sign that says "stand-by, no Insurance available"..I feel pretty confident they'll make it, well not pretty and not confident but they might make it. Lol
I've been out of town and hadn't seen this post till tonight.

Steve, Thank-you so much for your offer. I guess I'll have to buy a ticket. My double rifle is at the gunsmith now having custom scope mounts made for it. I really would like to have a guarantee it shows up. Also it's important I show up on time..................LOL
But should funds get tight, I may have to risk it. At least if the gun was lost or stolen I just have to watch the news for "Man robs Circle K with elephant gun" story."
