Stainless question
Can anyone tell me anything about T-304 and T-316 stainless? I found an online supplier with prices I can afford but I'm not sure this type of steel would be suitable for blades. Thanks! |

They are great for making heat treating racks, but not of much value for knifemaking. Non hardenable (blades), and gummy (bolsters/guards). |

Well that puts you a long way from me but I would think there are a few other makers in the Alabama area? Hopefully they can help. Steve |

Bear, I'm in Jacksonville AL and I buy my steel from Admiral Steel. They are about the cheapest I've found and I've never had any problem with their products. www.admiralsteel.com/orde...rmenu.html Are you in the Huntsville area? Jim Batson lives in Madison and Alex Daniels lives in Town Creek. Tom Militano |
