What most common reamer sizes

I have an opportunity to buy US made cobalt reamers at wholesale price from a local shop. But it has to be at least ten of them.
What are the most common reamer sizes used in folders?

Thanks,
Alex

That depends entirely on what size pivot you use, the type of pivot and the way it's mounted, if you use bushings, size and type of screws, size of stop bar and how to implement it and probably a few things I haven't thought of. And, that answer applies to the liner locks I make - for people who make other types of folders, other reamers might be needed.

It doesn't matter what you buy because until you actually try to build a folder you'll only be guessing about the drills, reamers, and screw sizes that you will use. Whatever you chose now, you'll need something different later for a different size or type of knife. It could be at least two or three years befoer you stop finding out that you need still ANOTHER reamer or drill size than the ones you already have for something that you are trying to do .

Bottom line: start building and buy what you need when you figure out what is required for the parts your using ...

i have only used reamers on one knife before but they worked fairly well.
i had 1/8 3/16 and 1/4 and i think thats it. i would assume theyre pretty common sizes.
they were the ones needed to make the barlow to don robinsons plans.

The most common size I use is 3/16". I have two worn HSS and a newer carbide reamers. Started making folders in 1992. Most of my pivots are that diameter. Occasionally I make a larger folder, so I have 1/4" and 5/16" reamers. I use the 5/16 when I need an offset pivot screw. I also use 1/8" and 3/32" reamers for stop pins.
