Talking It really works

Hey guys..

I have finally done it.My third knife (my only real one now) that I have made is comming pretty good.I can't belive it but I must have heat treated this one right or something because I just sharpend it and shaved my arm with ease. After ruinning three or four this is nice for a change. If I had anything to say to someone starting out "like me",I would say stick with it and practice practice.I have done this with afew cheap tools,I could only imagine having a KMG1.I will post a pic soon as I get the handles on.Thanks to every one.

Rich.

Richard,

Congrats on your accomplishment.

Now a small word of advise that I PROMISE will save you grief down the road. Do not sharpen your knife at any time during the process of making it. Sharpening should be the very last thing you do to it.

Have fun and be safe.

Hey Bob thanks.I just wanted to save myself the trouble of putting on the handles in case I needed to re-treat it or trash it because I'v been having trouble with getting any of my others sharp (like not sharp at all). But now I think I'v got it.
