D/C motor

Hello All,

I am new to this site. I make a UGLY knife worthy of only the dirtest scrap barrel and have plenty of questions.

I am sure this has been covered a million times on this site but I could not find any mention in the earlier messages. I am looking for a variable speed D/C motor to make a small grinder. I have heard that there are some 2-1/2 HP that are rather cheap but I did not have an address to go with the information. Does anyone have a source for this type of motor?

Thanks,

Gary

Here's a thread on a cheap 2.5HP. I ordered one and they are much smaller than one would expect. It is "treadmill duty".I plan on making a disk sander with it.
