Guild 2010 Summer Meeting Announcement

The Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild 2010 Summer meeting will be held at the shop of Scott Davidson, in Alto, on Saturday, August 7th.

Demos will be announced later.

Standard agenda for the day; the Board will meet at 8 am or soon as we all arrive, followed by the general meeting of the Guild. The demos follow, iron in the hat, lunch, scholarship knife drawing and any remaining demos.

Keep an eye on this thread for updates regarding the meeting.

The general public is welcome to attend.

Any one that will be in town on the friday nite before the meeting saturday, can come on by the house , and we can get a head start on talking knives. Anyone that needs to set up anything like forges , demo's etc, can do that also. We will have a bite ready to eat that afternoon. Thanks , Scott

I have two confirmed demos right now.

Scott will be showing us how to make Kydex sheaths
and
Andy (fiddleback) will be showing us how to create and sharpen a Scandi grind edge and hopefully show us some woodcrafting skills

If anyone has a suggestion for what they would like to see for another demo I would LOVE to hear em.

I can't imagine anyone thinking of my woodworking as 'skilled'.

Well I've missed the last few meetings so I don't know what the demos were at those, but if there hasn't been one on soldering stainless steel bolsters and guards then I'd be interested in seeing that. That's of course assuming that someone is willing to demonstrate that.
