I like it! I like the wood too but it doesn't look very bird's eye to me . Probably some strange Canadian version of maple, it seems to have elements of spalted and fiddle back as well as bird's eye in it ....

I like it. Very useful looking blade. I might have rounded the edges on the handle a little more. But very nice.

Nice Rob, make a serious camp knife.
Was looking at your old wagon wheel. When that thing finally rots out, those hub rings are made out of WI just like the big rim (don't let them slip away). __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

I like the knife, and the wagon wheel is the perfect background for the photograph.

had my eye on those since they day my wife brought them home as decor , my eyes lit up and she knew exactly why then she smacked me with the garden rake !! she said dont even think about it, I figured she was nice enough to buy me 2 !!! they're out in the open trying to speed up the rot process !! but I wont tell her that !! __________________ R.Watson B.C. Heavy mulching around the plants (and them) can speed up the process considerably. I only know because I read a lot.
Got to keep a close eye on them. My neighbor had an old rotted field wagon as a center piece d?cor in her flower garden. Talked many times about final resting place for the metal parts when the time came and she assured me I could have them for the haul-off. Wife and I walked by there several times a week on our morning strolls and always talked with her when we could. Well, she relandscaped last fall and the fella that helped her, hauled it all off to the dump while I was gone off to MO for a few days. She forgot and just wanted it gone. Found one of the smaller hub lantern rings he missed. Four wheels and all the rest of the wagon fittings buried in a land fill somewhere. Yeah, cried just a bit. Telling you, mulch-water-mulch-water-mulch........ __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |
