Re: Rolling Mill

I posted this once before but image was too big to work. I hope this will post a smaller pic. It is the small rolling mill I built last month. The rollers are 2" and the gearmotor is 1/4ph with a 58:1 output turning 30rpm. The final roller speed is ~20rpm to get ~12fpm. It works well on cable and R/R spikes.

cool

That is pretty nice, I like the location of the forge.
Have you used it much yet? Can you weld with it?

Re: Rolling Mill

Mark: Nice setup. I have a few questions.
* lower roller, works off a foot pedal and cam to apply presser??
* which direction do the rollers turn toward the front?
* what type of elavator or pivot on the lower roller for the upward movement??

Re:Venturi burners

Sorry for the slow reply Indian George, the drive roller rolls both forward and backward but works best when rolling out toward you. The foot peddle works as a pivot. The rod form the foot peddle to the roller is 3/4" SS pipe with a nut welded on top with a bolt screwed into it. This allows an adjustment for the amount the rollers open. Hope this helps.
