Nessmuck
Heres a nessy I just finished. It has a four inch blade of forged 1070 steel. It was clay coated with an oil quench and oil bath temper. It has stabilized maple scales with stainless pins.Sorry for the poor pics but my camera sucks.

You call that a nessy. I call it a no nonsense skinner but I dont know what a nessy is other than your knife. Love the wood. Does it have a temper line?

Dan she has an extremely pronounced temper line.I realy must get a better camera soon. This picture is so bad my makers mark at the top of the blade near the plunge looks like a smudge and you cant see any of the alloy banding which gives the mono steel a damascus look.Thaks for the copmliments Dan.

That one is nice, modern flair with the handle, looks like it would be good for field work.

Also, what camera do you have? You may just need to pull back further, and crop after. A lot of the early digitals had a 3ft focus distance, so anything closer will be blurry. Give it a try and see if it works.

Nice clean work! That handle material is awesome brother! Great choice for a linear knife--No element of the design competes for attention with another! Very well composed.

That maple sure does make a beautiful handle. I like the lines of the knife.
Sometimes I take a step back and then zoom in on the knife to get a better picture. You get past the 3' minimum, you crop the picture at the same time, and you show more details than you would taking the picture from a distance. That is of course your camera can zoom in that tight. Reid Allen |
