OK....tell us about what Santa brought!!!

OK, what new toys did Santa bring you????

For me the highlight was a 2.8 pound custom made forging hammer from Tom Clark, and a MIG conversion kit for my welder.

I've not had the chance to fire up the forge since Christmas, so I haven't tried the hammer. However, after about an hour's worth of time, I got the MIG kit installed in the little Lincoln Weld-pak 100, and am really happy with it!
I suppose my Christmas vacation is over......so starting at 6am tomorrow morning it's back to work! Gotta get something ready for the Reno show,

My big present was a 10" Ryobi bench-top drill press. Nothin' too big but makes holes a helluva lot easier and more accurate than an electric hand drill and a vise! Santa also brought me quite a few Home Depot gift cards too... Ill fins some use for em.

I love those gift cards! It's like getting a free shopping trip to the "big kids" toy store! A drill press is a pretty big deal if you don't have one already........you can do all kinds of great stuff with that.

This is just fantastic! Everyone is got tools!! Now I ask you, what could be better than new tools!!! I used my newly coverted MIG welder to build a brake for my 50lb Little Giant, and though it was just wonderful that I didn't have to chip flux or power brush the welds......weld it and it's done.

I still haven't used my new hammer, but that's coming soon.

Everyone have a Happy New Year........and be safe out there. I'd much rather be talking to you......than about you!

Santa missed me.. but I did buy myself a new vac pump for my setup to stabalize handle material.

vac pumps are expensive and unless your wanting a new one.. hard to find. There are many on e-bay but they go for almost as much as a new one. I got lucky and did find a good used one that will pull 28 hg for on $50 on ebay.. shipping is $18 tho... heavy bugger.

Got to love my mother inlaw

Christmas came & what was under my tree , A brand new Gransfors bruks " Smalll Forest Axe". Ive admired these beauties for ten years since I saw one at the "Toronto Sportsmans Show" & just haven't had the cash to go & buy one for myself. It is as good as I hoped it would be.How many mothers inlaw take care of their son inlaws like that.

I got an article in Guns magazine and lots of phone calls. Still haven't got my copy of the magazine yet but the writer of the article emailed me the copy without pictures.

Santa was exceptionally good to me this year. I'm not sure I deserved it all but it is most appreciated...

Home Depot Gift Card, Sears Gift Card, Rockler (wood working store) gift card, full set of 60 full carbide drill bits! (oh how sweet!)

So now I'm in the process of building my forge and I'm also making a display case for an antique sword I have.

Oh and I also got a digital camera so I can start taking better pictures! (much needed)
