Polishing nickel-silver bolsters
A knife came in that the owner wanted it cleaned up a bit, the nickel silver bolsters have taken a beating after being wiped and handled over the years. I've cleaned it up but not to my satisfaction of a truly clean-clear mirror finish. I can still see the swirl from the 6K polishing sheet.
Have put it to the buffer with the green compound with a light touch. Have tried Semichrome with a 100% cotton cloth... Any tips to get it truly mirror without the faint scratches. Someone suggested Flitz or Mother mag wheel polish as well. __________________ Mike |

My progression, sanded with 2K wet/dry, 3M 4K polishing sheet, buffer with green compound then the purple compound. Reasonable results that are clean mirrorish. If I had a felt wheel that may have been nicer though a light touch with the sewn purple was close enough for me. Owner was very pleased.
