centered Basket weave

Yesterday I got to spend the day in the shop ,"the whole day" started at 7:00am and ended at 9:30pm,But I think it might of been worth it .This is what I came up with.this Billet is just over 1/4 thick and 15"long and 1 1/2 wide .I started with 19 layers of (10 each-1/4",by 4" by 1 1/2 wide 1084)from Aldo and (9 each .070 15n20) ,A Basket weave is what i had in mined but on the last stack I added some more 1084 and 15n20 to get the bold edges and leave the basket weave in the middle ,also i double stacked 15n20 in between the square basket weave both times i welded it together I think it work as i wanted what do you think ???? I do wish i could get the basket weave to stay squarer i cut the billet into a zig zag to get the basket weave to show so the squares kinda stretch out some .

What a nice piece of work! And a great demonstration of a high skill level. That could be interesting done up as a tile piece.

Thanks guy I think the wife said no handle just round off,i was thinking ivory just a small turtle shaped piece in the round part of the handle that way you can still see the pattern on the end and a curved indent at the blade end for your thumb ,but not sure yet need to ponder on it some.
