Folder clips standoffs
Ive been seeing a trend in famous makers using a flat piece of Ti and using a standoff to hold it up and mount it for a pocketclip . I havent seen one in person. How does it stay in place with only 1 screw ? Any more details on these would be appreciated.
thanks Dave |

I was told that three screws should be used on pocket clips. I'm not famous or well known but that's what I use. Frank

I think I figured it out. Its a frame lock and the lock groove is down the middle and the clips end has a bump that sits in the lock groove . I just need to find some small standoffs so I can try a 2 screw version.

Dave there are two screw versions out there. Most of the single screw versions are recessed into a slot to make sure that it stays in position. The slot is counter sunk into the handle or bolster area and will normally have a mill runoff area just to keep it from moving around.
It can be a complicated process, especially the runoff or runup area without the right equipment (bacially a CNC Mill). Curtis __________________ Curtis Wilson Wilson's Custom Knives, Engraving, and Scrimshaw |
