Thr truth on the stag and Jimmy Lile
I became curious about the stag "hand picked by Jimmy Lile" since I was a close friend of Jimmy and the story just did not seem entirely correct to me. Jimmy died on May 5, 1991. His wife kept the shop going until it was sold to a long time employee in July, 1995. She kept the shop going until September, 2002.
At no time was stag picked out by Jimmy for anyone. The shop, at the end sold some some stag, but not all, to Texas Knifemaker's supply. Jimmy did not sell stag to folks that just dropped by and asked for "stag he had picked out but would sell to them..." Jimmy was not in the shop for some time before his death. I have talked to his wife and to the employee who bought the shop and read the forum here as well as the ebay wording. I broke out in knives with Jimmy Lile and these words did not match what I knew. Just take things with a rather large dose of salt when you read this stuff. |
