Boneyard Bowie pin ?

I'm having a hard time finding .120" pins. Is it easier to turn pins down to size or drill out the tang? I'd rather use .125" pins so I'd prefer to ream out the pin holes. How easy is it to drill them out?
Thanks

Hi Colt,

I would ream or drill the tang holes. It's not hard at all. In fact, I've done it with a round file.

Thanks

I had visions of softening the tang and then drilling them out.

Since you're only increasing the diameter of an existing hole, you may find that its easy enough to do it without annealing it. Use a carbide drill bit, or a reamer and you'll probably be good to go.

I just recently encountered the same problem. I used my Dremel with a HF "diamond" point. Only took about 10 minutes and worked perfectly. That was on heat treated/cryo'd 154CM. Not sure what the Rockwell was, but the material was HARD.
