WOW! Karl, very nice work. The san mai looks really good and I think you nailed the whole "theme" so to speak, of the knife with the black maple.

I like the finish you get on your guards too. I really like this knife.

Your pictures are always nice but I can imaging that black maple stands out even more in person. Looks like a beautiful finish on that too.

I just got some regular ol' curly maple and sent it to K and G to be dyed and stabilized.

I'm sure liking this one-really like the handle and guard with that blade. I look forward to seeing more of that San Mai on your knives.

I found it was easier to focus on keeping the sides on the sides.
