Hey Mark, The graphite that comes on the grizzly platen actually comes off pretty easy, atleast mine did. Just work up an edge then pull it off. I put my new pyroceram on with Epoxy and it has worked awesome. I think JB weld will work fine. Just make sure its nice and even when you have it clamped to dry. Lets start seeing some of those knives.
