I've always been one of those who makes a billet of damascus......then has to hurry up and get it etched....then I get really excited, and have to get back into the hot shop and built more!
Like I said, I kinda let the cat outta the bag a bit sooner then I intended....but the whole reason I'm doing this is that Jim Clow (boatbuilder), who lives up in Alberta, Canada, is selling me his 80 ton forging press, and a rolling mill. The plan is to head up to his place and pick it all up the first weekend in March. Once it's setup in my shop, I'll finally be able to forge the largest billets I can fit into my welding forge!
