When you mentioned the diamond I've had that on my list. Anything to help ease some of the handwork will be good! After a hand rubbing session the fingers hurt.
Before Id go up to a 1K then down to 600 which was pretty nice. After rubbing them that lazy streak hits so leaving a slightly coarser finish reduced some of the time. Not grinding a square shoulder and sweeping across for a smoother transition was a big time saver with rubbing them out.
There are a couple makers that I thought the finish was at 320 or 220. Pretty coarse for hand rubbing.
