I did one with mammoth ivory scales, filework, etc. I have also thrown a couple together for my boys to practice with while we are camping, it is a classic knife, and a great design to start with. I personally like lock backs better than liner locks, but your milage may vary. I would recommend it over one like the american whittler to start with.

I also mostly forge or stock remove straight edge blades (currently forging and finishing a karambit from some damascus I traded with you for), but have been playing with the kit knifes to learn folders from. I think with a few more under my belt, I will try a sole authorship folder. You may also try the DDR3-BL if you like switchblades.
