The 2015 Spring Meeting of the GCKG will be held at Scott Davidson?s Shop in Alto, Georgia on May 16 with a social on Friday night, May 15, 2015. Arrive at Scott?s anytime after 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Plan to bring your own chairs. Pop (James Poplin) intends to be there on Saturday. Place your orders! Directions to Scott?s shop below. We had a great time in Statesboro this past weekend at Twin Blades Shop. We want to thank Charlie and Harry Mathews for hosting, and thanks to Susan for all her hard work. Also thank you to the four individuals who presented the very informative demos. Look for more details in the next Steel and Fire Newsletter. We had 58 present including members, guests, and 5 new members. The day began with cool weather (29 degrees) but after lunch it felt like spring (about 60 degrees).

From Gainesville:
North on 985/365 up to Mud Creek Rd., (approx 15 minutes above Gainesville).
Turn right on to Mud Creek Rd., go about 1 mile to the end.
Turn left, go about 200 feet.
Turn right on to Yonah Homer Rd., cross RR tracks, go approximately 1.4 miles (you will pass the white water tower on the left) to New Life Fellowship Church on left. Park here. You can ride shuttle or walk up hill to Scott?s.


From 85 in Commerce/441 (Tanger outlet mall exit)
Go 441 north 3.5 miles to Hwy 164 to your left, at bank.
Go 3.5 miles to down town Homer (the court house on the left).
Turn left at the court house on to Yonah Homer Rd.
Go approx. 6 miles to 4 way stop.
Go straight thru, approx 3 miles to New Life Fellowship Church on the right. Park here. You can ride shuttle or walk up hill to Scott?s. If you pass the white water tower on the right, you have gone too far.
