Here are some of the new knives I'm taking to the Beinfeld show at the Las Vegas Riviera in January. As you can see; a bit of everything from a Roman short sword to muzzle-loader's accoutrements.
Had something funny happen to me today whilst finishing these up. I was out in the shop, hot-waxing the rawhide sheaths with raw beeswax. It was a beautiful day in the 70's here in Tucson. About an hour into the project, I realized that the shop was rather rapidly filling up with bees, apparently attracted to the delicious smell of melted beeswax. Fortunately, I'm not afraid of bees...always wanted to be a bee-keeper. So I just carried on with what I was doing and enjoyed the company of my little buddies. We Neo-Tribal Metalsmiths are a truly odd lot, aren't we?
