I just went to Tony's site and looked at a few of his photos. Yes, he is demonstrating how he solders the bolsters to the liners.
He also is using a small piece of metal with a saw slot in it to line up the bolsters on each side with each other. This is the same way we'll use the aid I posted photos of.

If you're going to do this, you'll also need a couple of spring clips like he's using. I already have a wall full of them left over from my soldering days but I also use them all the time to hold assemblies together while epoxy hardens.
