I have made a couple from this design, works pretty well. If you go for the sloped sides (which makes them stackable) it makes it a lot tougher. The banding an corner braces are pretty easy to make from steel sheet (and can cover a multitude of carpentry sins) and you can whip out a pretty neat set of hinges from bar stock, even without a forge (file drill and hacksaw) if you have to.
