I had thought about doing exactly that a few years ago. I think that it should be simple if you use a rigid mount for the grinder and whatever will hold the platen or contact wheel. Turn the arm of the multi-tool to the upright position, and that becomes your tracking idler. In the end, however, I decided to leave it the way it was, since I used the small contact wheel for so many things.
