My son has a new 15 year old stepson named Stephen. Now, to me, Stephen sounds too formal, so I asked him what he liked to be called. He answered, "Anything". I shortened that to Any, so that's what I call him now.
To call you "Whatever you like" is too long a name, so I'll call you Gil.
