Welcome nvisiot,

Sure, the typhoon is a great bali for the money! It has a standard t-latch which is not spring loaded as on the bm42,but i'm sure you could rig something up if you wanted.

I would'nt say either handle style really has an advantage, the standard set (no inserts) would probably be easiest to start with. With inserts you have to be carefull and get them to the exact size,if they're a tight squeeze it will cause the handles to bow on you,the knife wont flip properly. But if you take your time you should'nt have a problem.

To assemble the entire knife will only take you a total of maybe ten minutes, getting the loc-tite to properly set how you want can be a tad tricky with these.

To add inserts you'll need various grit's of sandpaper (depending on insert material),some epoxy and that'll do it for your basic inserts.

I you search the forum you can see a few i've done in the past!
