It's a cabretta leather golf glove (for a left handed golfer), very thin and very adept at needle handling. In fact it provids much better friction for pulling the needle through on the second pass. It's one of the things I'd recommend to new handstitchers. I order them from Master Glove golf, 2 for $10 and they last forever.
