Working on my first swords and got to thinking about tempering. I finally got the nerve to heat treat and they fit, barely, in my kitchen oven. Fairly short swords, no claymores for the first attempt. Anyway, even short swords are to long for my heat treat oven so I was considering building a tempering oven.

I've seen three toaster ovens bolted together, but toaster ovens are not as cheap as they used to be and I've got one that's iffy at best on temp control.

How hard would it be to build a long toaster oven with a PID controller?

Anyone done something similar?
