I have and still use the Brownell's ATP anti scale coating and never had problems with if flaking off in the heat treat oven. I cleaned the blades very well with acetone prior to bushing the coating on and let it fully dry prior to placing in the oven. You can also use alcohol for cleaning instead of acetone.
I t would flake off in the quench oil, but that just made clean up a lot easier.
