Hi Art, thanks for the response. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I live at 9100Ft in Frisco, Co. and since my last post I have gotten 3Ft of snow so have been busy with that and have finished 2 more knives. The pics are in my album. One is a smaller knife for a trucker friend, and the other is a fishing knife for a lady flyfisher woman. Take a look and see what ya think.

I have a knife right here in front of me that was made in 1992 ,and I lost for about 3 months and it was stuck in a fence post and not showing any rust and I didn't use anything under the bolsters . All my knives are SS with 416 SS bolsters . But I have used super glue , but when you pein the rivets I'd wear a face shield in case it splattered.

Hey Art, you make some killer knives. If you don't mind, what do you use under your bolsters for a water seal?
Thanks

On the blade or bolsters?? The bolsters I completely finish the front of the bolsters to 1000 grit and buff before I rivet them on. The Sides of the bolsters I finish them when I do the handle. I'v kinda got away from high polishing them, seems people just want a hand rubbed finish any more. I take them to a 1000 grit finish and then use a cratex fine diamond (rubber ) block for final finish. If you want ask more questions.

Hello Art,
I'm always impressed your your knife pics so if you don't mind I have a quick question for you.
I'm using 416 stainless for a set of bolsters for the very first time , just wondering what what your sanding / polishing instruction would be to get that mirror image you've perfected !!
Thank you sir
