Thanks Mongo Sweany 01-15-2002, 07:00 PM new steel or old? Raymond Richard 01-15-2002, 07:40 PM Mongo, I'll give you this information and let you figure what size you want to go with. Lets say all these are forged to the edge. 3/8 = 1".. 1/2 = 1 1/4".. 5/8 = 1 1/2".. and 3/4 = 1 3/4". Your size may be somewhat different, but this is pretty close to what I've come up with. Most of what I forge is from round stock. Hope this helps. Ray Dana Acker 01-16-2002, 07:27 AM I work with 3/8" up to 1/2". Over 1/2" it becomes a real job flattening, and that's what you spend your fuel and your energy doing instead of blade shaping and bevelling--best to switch to flat stock at that point. mongoismyname 01-16-2002, 09:15 AM Thanks for the info, |
