Hi. I have a navaja very similar to this one. I would bet its the same maker. However, on the blade are etched the words BABUARDS A PARIS. I got it on ebay with no info, but, for some reason, I suspect it is made in France. If I figure out how to attach pics you will see the similarity.

ditto on being french--the portagese & spanish did similar knives.--cranky72
