Folks, this is an idea I have been working on for several years. I have collected the wisdom and advice of top makers, machinists, and rank amateurs since I joined the Knife List in the mid-Nineties, and have added to the database from other sources.

For a few weeks, I have been sorting out a tiny portion of this material under the heading of "Technique" into a Word document that I will burn onto a CD. It is near completion, and if printed out, is nearly 300 pages.

It is my intention to make it available for about $30. Is there interest, or am I wasting my time?

Don,
I think that's a great idea. The tips, tricks, techniques and knowledge of many man-years is very valuable.

Don,

A reference like that on CD would be fantastic. Not only could you print out the pages that you want when you want (and reprint when you spill your coffee on them) but would be totally searchable without having to scroll though page after page.

A FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!

I'll buy the first copy! Just let us know when its ready.
