Does anybody use naval jelly to etch their blades between grits? Jim Hrisoulas mentions this in his Complete Bladesmithing book, the purpose being to make it easier to see if all grit marks are removed. By the time I end up at a 400 grit ready to hand sand, it seems like there's always a spot I missed. I might try the Naval Jelly sometime soon. Any thoughts? Should I use it between grits hand sanding?
