Well...You are probably right B.U.G. It does look to have a few hammer dings in it., so maybe its sorta forged. The handle looks like it may be a piece of plastic. 'hope not. I would rather have a primitive knife than a plastic knife. Let us know how it turns out. :mod:

The handle/grip/whatever, is supposed to be hardwood. When I get it in a few days, I'll give a full report. I got my Sony Mavica fixed and I bought a replacement floppy drive for my putey, SOOOOO, if replacing that floppy drive is as easy as I am told, I should have photos posted shortly after I get it.

I received the Bear MGC Bowie, by the way, and that is one sharp knife. Won't shave right now, but it will cut a piece of paper held loosely, which is one of my tests. I plan to cut up a brisket with it tomorrow, So I'll see how it holds an edge.

I don't know who makes the"Texas Longhorn Bowie" ...but it is just a wall hanger. I would not try hitting anything with it. At the risk of hurting your feelings, I would say you will probably be tempted to dump it and the box it came in into the trash when it arrives.

Knives like that one is what made me say, "Heck, I can make one better than that" Also, I am a cheapskate and I thought I could make one cheaper too. Lot of fine makers down there in Texas. Did you find one close enough for a visit yet BUG ? I see that you can live in one part of Texas and be closer to me here in Ohio than to someone who lives on the other side of the state.(well almost) heehee.

You could make a butter knife razor sharp. How long it stays sharp is a different story. Don't know how much experience you have on ebay, but be carefull. That place is full of all kinds of scammers.
