Hi guys,

Just wanted to show a picture of the first knife made by a young man John has been tutoring in knifemaking. Pretty good job. And needless to say Jack is very proud of this filet knife.

Impressive!

Filet knives are difficult to grind. Looks like John is doing a good job of teaching.

Good looking knife! I really like the contrast of the blue handle up against the stainless guard. What blade steel?

The blade steel is 440C. If Jack had a better photographer than me, you would have seen the grind line and you would have been able to tell how good he did keeping everything straight for his first knife.

Will Jack be coming to the July meeting? If so, I'll take a closer look then if it hasn't already found a new home. I hope John is brainstorming about a demo. :)
