Hi

I have made a full nickel silver sheath for my latest damascus knife. I have sanded to 600 grit and polished with some metal polish, but still have some very light scratches. Do I need to sand at a finer grit. What compounds should I use and on what type of wheel?

Might also try posting this question over on the fit and finish forum. Might find somebody there that can better give you an answer.

Without seeing it firsthand I can only suggest you might have to go back to 400 grit and get out the scratches then come back up to 600 and then go even higher for a mirror type finish.
