What's the best procedure for aplying the GT?

The way I did it was to glue up my sheath and then got the edges cleaned up on the belt grinder down to 300 grit. Then liberally applied the first coat of GT. When just about dry, I added a second coat and let sit overnight. The next morning I tried to burnish with bone folder and just barelly got a gloss and the edge wasn't the least bit "hard".

Any ideas?

You've got to work it while still damp. It's the rubbing that will give it the hard gloss look. I rub the first in briskly with a coarse cloth like denim and then "bone" it (I use a smooth elk antler tip). Wait about an hour and then put a second coat on and when almost dry bone it again.

Then I rub in a coat of Fiebings Leather Balm for a good moisture resistant final finish.
