Anybody seen any info on Minolta's new Dimage 5 or 7 digital cameras. The dimage 7 is suppost to be 5.2 mega pixals. Was wondering about the $$$$$$.

I use Minoltas the X700 is my favorite 35 mm. But these new digitals with ttl focus is looking pretty cool.

How do the Minoltas stack up even their smaller pixal cameras?

I'm not sure about the 5.2, but their MINOLTA DIMAGE RD 3000 DIGITAL SLR CAMERA is $3700. It's only 2.7 MP.

Once you get over 3 MP, the secret seems to be the lens, lighting and software.

I would imagine that a 5 MP image on full resolution would cover a 10 x 10 wall in raw format. I'll bet it would be pretty fun to play with though. I like overkill ... nothing like it when you need performance :)
