I own two cargo containers and I use them for storing everything in. Let me tell you, if you haven't been inside of a good one lately, these things are made better than the Hoover Dam. I believe that you could put wheels on one of mine and it would become an instant armored car. It's that stout!

However, I was teasing with my buddies a while back that I would rather move mine together and convert them into a bachelor cabin before I signed up for another new house. I bought my current one, which is out in the country, a couple of years ago. It has everything a bachelor could ever want. Then the economy took a dive. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have all of the stuff that I do, but the idea that my property value went down like the Titanic from no fault of my own still has me p####d off. All I can hear when I go outside and look around, even given as peaceful and quiet as it is here, is my old Pappy saying "Son, it ain't worth a s##t unless it's paid for!"

Several days ago, I got an e-mail from one of my buddies who said, "I found you a home builder in case you decide to move up in the world!" He thought he was being funny. I'm looking for the builder's phone number now! I'll bet this guy is 100% paid off, and I'll bet he's happy when he goes outside and looks at his neighbor's homes!

Wow! That's pretty amazing!

Around chemical plants and refineries, those shipping containers are often converted into training rooms or instrument shelters. With the right construction, they're reasonably safe places in the event of an explosion. I've also been on a hunting lease or two that used these for sleeping quarters. None came close to the fancy designs in your pictures.

Does anyone know what that is up on the awning in the last photo?

If you're talking about the thing on top i's probably a solar panel.
If you mean something else I don't see what you're talking about.
