Hey guys- I just came accross this and thought you might find it interesting. It's the official Bear Grylls knife. In case you don't know who Bear is, he is this mildly entertaining British guy that has a show on Discovery called Man vs. Wild. On the show Bear demonstrates his over the top "survival techniques" in various parts of the world and always finds a reason to take his shirt off. In any case, as a "survivalist" he always carries a knife and I've often been curious what it was......... well, now I know!

You too can have one for a mere $526 US or $710 US if you want damascus! I must admit the sheath is kind of cool, but $500??? Are you kidding? Here's the link in case you want to order a few for yourselves:

The price is nearly as much a joke as Bear is.He does so many stupid and dangerous and unnecessary things on his show its just a matter of time before someone is killed duplicating him.My favorite stupid thing is when he takes "short cuts" through mines:punchself

Why would you want serrations on the most used part of the blade? That would not be my first choice of where to put them. But then again I actually use them so it may be I have a different set of criterias.

He's just trying to tap into the bushcraft blade market. Some of the original Alan Wood bushcraft knives can go for a pretty penny over in Europe, so they want a slice. For that much money I'd go buy a decent mid-range custom knife and then spend the rest on a new rifle.

I've always thought the pricing on that particular blade was a joke, but then again, plenty of people have purchased it I suppose.

Something tells me that if that blade wasn't being endorsed by an international celebrity, the price would be less than half of what it is though.
