I am wanting to learn how to forge blades but I cant find anyone in my area that can teach me
I live in Alaska but I will be in NC for about a week 4/29-5/4 so I am trying to find someone in the Raleigh/ Durham (actually going to be in Chapel Hill) area that might be willing to teach me a little to help get me started

Hi Matt - you might want to wander over to our website and look up Tim Scholl on the member list. He's the only guy that immediately comes to mind for me near Raleigh who forges blades.

If you can make the trip down to the spring meeting of the Guild at Montgomery Community College (Troy, NC) this weekend there will be a forging demonstration by Tim Scholl and another person. You'll also be able to talk to several members who forge knives. You're more than welcome to attend.
